Investor Sought
In 2020 WWB Group in Krunkel, Rhineland-Palatinate, consisted of WWB Tiefbaugesellschaft mbH – which had already been established in 1987 – and Energie- und Brennstoffpark Krunkel GmbH. The Group covers a broad spectrum of services in the field of civil engineering and recycling. This includes general groundworks and excavation work, sewerage, road and civil engineering as well as development works. Demolition works including processing and resale of the recycled material round off the group’s offering. As part of a strategic realignment, the owners looked for an investor that would support the continued growth of the group while implementing a buy & build strategy. To enable such a transaction, the owners turned to Syntra (formerly Sonntag).
Establishment of the New TERRAS Group
Syntra found a suitable investor with AUCTUS Capital Partners AG and assisted with the disposal of shares of WWB shareholders Ralf Sojka and Dr. Dirk Sojka to the new buy & build partner. AUCTUS Capital Partners – a leading investment company established in 2001 for German-speaking mid-sized companies – and Messrs. Sojka planned to establish a civil engineering group that has operated throughout Germany since 2021 under the new umbrella brand “TERRAS” and continues its dynamic growth through acquisitions.
“From our perspective, the support from Syntra (formerly sonntag) in the form of Mr. Pohlner and Mr. Seip can be characterized as follows: Very fast response speeds, absolute process authority, a very rapid grasp of the facts (when it comes to figures and the industry), a real drive to succeed, and absolute personal and human integrity – attributes that we value very highly and that we also follow in our own group.”
