The company also operates an agricultural warehouse and a petrol station on the company premises. Wilhelm Hoyer GmbH & Co. KG, based in Visselhövede on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath, was founded in 1924 and is one of the largest independent family-owned companies in the German energy sector. The medium-sized petroleum company currently employs over 2,200 people at more than 60 locations. In addition, the Hoyer Group operates more than 200 of its own service stations and truck stops, supplying end customers and retail partners with diesel, heating oil, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas and wood pellets.
