Growth in the Dynamic German Market
DeNe Deutsche Netzbau GmbH was established in 2018 in the Bavarian municipality of Goldbach. As general contractor, DeNe covers the full-service spectrum for infrastructure projects for fiber optic expansion: From planning and consultancy through project management to execution. The company is primarily active for private network operators and public utility companies in the German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. DeNe pursues a clear growth strategy in the dynamic German fiber optic market and was looking for a strong partner here as majority shareholder.
ENSIO Group – Strong New Majority Shareholder
DeNe found a suitable buyer and investor in close collaboration with the team from Syntra (formerly sonntag). Since the beginning of 2023, the new majority shareholder has been the French ENSIO Group. ENSIO is a leading specialist for telecommunications and energy infrastructure. Established in 1976, the company has belonged to private equity company Montefiore Investment since 2020. ENSIO employs around 3,500 people in France and has opened its entry into the German market with its majority interest in DeNe. The sellers remain the shareholders and directors of DeNe and they will now expand the business further together with ENSIO.
“The many peculiarities and decision-making requirements during the process underscored to me how important it is to turn to experts for such a specialist area as a company sale. I found these experts in Syntra Corporate Finance (formerly sonntag corporate finance), and I was always able to rely on specialist advice and active collaboration throughout every step of the process. The absolute transparency and close coordination between the project team and us shareholders also aided what was truly outstanding cooperation, in retrospect.”
Jens Hoffbauer
Director and Shareholder of DeNe
“Among the target companies that we approached in Germany, we were soon impressed by DeNe’s strong DNA. […] We are determined to retain this DNA while simultaneously accelerating the company’s growth alongside Mr. Hoffbauer and his team.”
