Growing Consolidation Pressure in the IT Sector
Consolidation pressure has been increasing in the IT sector for many years. Growth and development also require size and market strength here more than ever. This also applies to the CONPLUS Group, which was founded in 2006. As an SAP Gold Partner, this company offers the full range of SAP Business One services from its sites in Mönchengladbach and Ahrensburg, near Hamburg: From consultancy through license distribution and implementation to the individualization of this SAP solution for mid-sized businesses. In 2023, founding shareholders Winfried Fuchs and Manfred Prager therefore decided on a company sale in cooperation with M&A experts from Syntra (formerly sonntag).
New Opportunities Under the DATAGROUP Roof
Syntra found an ideal partner for CONPLUS with DATAGROUP, which is listed on the stock exchange. As a leading provider of IT services, Pliezhausen-based DATAGROUP in Baden-Württemberg employs around 3,500 people. These employees design, implement and support IT infrastructures and applications for mid-sized businesses and large corporations, as well as for public-sector customers, from sites right across Germany. CONPLUS’s merger with DATAGROUP at the end of 2023 gave rise to one of the largest SAP Business One expert hubs in Germany – with new growth and development opportunities for everyone involved.
“Under the DATAGROUP roof we have joined a very high-performance partner that offers outstanding growth and development opportunities to our employees and customers.”
Winfried Fuchs
Founding Shareholder of the CONPLUS Group
“We continue to see increased acquisition activity in the IT services segment, due not least to the strong positioning of the individual companies in this area. The CONPLUS Group is a prime example here for the sector’s crisis resilience, as well as that of the SME market in general. The acquisition by a listed company underscores this attractiveness. We are confident that, together with our client, we have found the ideal partner for the future of the CONPLUS Group.”
